Global DMC Partners Announces Program for Connection 2022

The eighth annual conference is set to take place in-person from April 7-10 in Puerto Rico

Global DMC Partners, the world’s premier centralized resource for virtual, hybrid and in-person events, has announced program highlights for its highly anticipated eighth annual Connection, one of the MICE industry’s most educational, collaborative and exclusive global conferences. Connection 2022 will take place at the newly renovated El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico, from April 7-10, where industry leaders and event professionals from around the world will gather to discuss the state of the rebounding meetings, events, and travel industry.

After kicking off the event with an opening reception and dinner celebrating the first in-person Connection since the 2019 event, the conference will get straight to business with an educational session led by Global DMC Partners President and CEO Catherine Chaulet. Chaulet will share key insights on global economic, business and travel trends, such as staffing shortages and sustainability, while zooming in on opportunities for the global MICE industry and providing a future outlook to help meeting and event professionals be better prepared for the year ahead.

Over the two main days of the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from peers and discuss timely topics such as international travel, event liability, working with suppliers, staffing challenges, digital/hybrid events and more in breakout sessions and an acclaimed industry expert panel. During dedicated time for one-on-one appointments, planners will learn about the latest destination updates from a selection of over 40 worldwide DMCs and event sponsors. The event’s other Keynote Speaker, sponsored by Judy Benjamin Curated Events, will be Jade Simmons, a creator of transformational experiences designed to activate audiences into becoming the biggest, boldest version of themselves possible.

Global DMC Partners’ exclusive Puerto Rican-based DMC Partner, Dragonfly Global Destination Services, will organize an array of special evening events and afternoon activities to give attendees the unique opportunity to experience a new side of Puerto Rico, a destination that has rebuilt itself and emerged even more polished, vibrant, safe and eager to welcome visitors.

“In partnership with our incredible Puerto Rican DMC partner, Dragonfly Global Destination Services, we have carefully planned to bring this signature event back to the industry in-person,” said Global DMC Partners President and CEO Catherine Chaulet. “We are truly looking forward to gathering with our partners and top client at the iconic El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico. There are still challenges to be dealt with as the travel industry rebuilds, and we’re confident we’ll be able to join together and come up with some effective solutions as we learn from one another over these few days.”

Connection 2022 will also offer opportunities for planners to discover all that Puerto Rico can offer for groups and events and connect outside of the meeting rooms, with optional activities such as morning workouts, snorkeling, sailing, Puerto Rican cooking, a rum mixology experience, ATV adventures, horseback riding, zip-lining and various resort site visits. Attendees will also receive Continuing Education Credits for attending the education sessions.

In addition to connecting with worldwide DMCs, planners will also have the opportunity to meet with Connection sponsors to learn about their specialized event services and offerings. Attending sponsors include Associated Luxury Hotels (ALHI), BW Events, Judy Benjamin Curated Events, SAVI EHS and TurnOut Now.
