School’s Back in Session! Global DMC Partners Launches GDP University

Global DMC Partners (GDP), the leading global network of independently owned destination management companies (DMCs) and creative event experts, is proud to announce the debut of its all-new, complimentary learning platform: GDP University. From the ‘101’ basics of meeting and event planning to ‘graduate-level’ topics such as event tech and sustainability, this comprehensive program serves as a go-to resource for industry professionals at all stages of their careers.

“With so much young talent entering our industry, we wanted to create an easy and free way for our clients to train new team members and to provide continuing education for more experienced planners,” said Global DMC Partners President and CEO Catherine Chaulet. “Program participants can select and attend only the courses that matter to them and their specific role in their organization. However, registering provides all access to webinars, on-demand videos, downloadable documents and much more.”

GDP University’s first live webinar, Planning 101 in Today’s Reality (Part I), will take place on October 4, at 11 a.m. Eastern. As the event landscape has changed over the past two years due to the global pandemic, Part I of this course will cover the basics from event conception up to the contracting phase. Topics will include an overview of the event life cycle, RFP template and sourcing tips, questions to vet suppliers and more.

Part II of the course will be held as a live webinar on October 25 at 11 a.m. Eastern and will cover everything from the contracting phase through managing an event onsite. Topics covered will include contracting need-to-knows, availability challenges and how to get buy-in from key stakeholders/the C-suite, transportation trends, how to build and manage a manifest and tips for managing an event onsite. Additional webinars and resources will be uploaded to the platform on an ongoing basis, and will be available to view at www.gdpuniversity.com once registered.

Participating live in GDP University webinars earns attendees CE credits towards their CMP.
