NEW AGRI-TOURISM EXPERIENCE THROUGH PROJECT CHOCOLAT & HELEN'S DAUGHTERS
Project Chocolat, one of Saint Lucia's newest and unique tourist attractions for individuals and groups, has partnered with non-profit organization, Helen's Daughters, to introduce the new Hybrid Aquaponics System located at Project Chocolat. Project Chocolat connects ethical cacao-growing with chocolate-lovers in a uniquely immersive agri-tourism experience where groups can shop, enjoy food and drink, explore and tour cacao groves and learn about every step of a cacao bean's journey, how to graft a tree, and craft your very own chocolate bar.
With a focus on agri-tourism, Project Chocolat is very supportive of Helen's Daughters which focuses on empowering and increasing the livelihoods of rural women through uplifting agriculture. They have started a positive movement on the island and are currently expanding to other parts of the Caribbean. The result of the collaboration is an apprenticeship program which equips two young women annually, with the agricultural and business knowledge necessary for running a successful agribusiness through the management of this one-of-kind structure.
Project Chocolat is nestled within the lush Caribbean rainforest, on Saint Lucia's oldest working cacao farm, Rabot Estate in Soufriere. Guided by their expert team, groups can indulge in a multi-sensory experience that supports both sustainable and social development in Saint Lucia.
